WHAT THIS COURSE IS ALL ABOUT…

You probably know me as the “cityscape timelapse photographer“, and you are completely right. 95% of my portfolio is city, traffic, and skyline timelapse videos. But once in a while, I love travelling to some of the most beautiful National Parks in the South West, such as Yosemite or Joshua Tree.

As I said before, this course is the Part 3 of the Timelapse Master Class 2021. But I decided to release it on its own as I find it to be very interesting and different than what I usually do. If you own the TMC21, you already own this course, just watch Part 3.

When capturing landscape timelapses, you are depending on the weather more than ever. You are shooting the clouds, the moving shadows or changing light, or even the Earth rotation. There is not much you can do if the weather conditions are not optimal.

So come with me to Yosemite and Joshua Tree National Parks to learn how I approach landscape, desert landscape and astro-timelapse photography. Shooting a timelapse in the wilderness is completely different than the 110 freeway in Downtown Los Angeles. VIDEO 2 – LANDSCAPE LOCATION SCOUTING (10:56)

Looking for a new spot in the middle of nowhere can be sometimes tricky. The best spots are usually away from the main road and Google Maps gets pretty limited with Street View.

In this video, I am going to find a few spots in Yosemite National Park without knowing anything about it.

VIDEO 3 – CLOUDSCAPE: A DAY IN YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK SHOOTING THE CLOUDS (14:45)

Let’s go spend a day in Yosemite to shoot some beautiful clouds, waterfalls and scenic views.

Landscape Timelapses are still new to me and after spending a full day in the park, I learned a lot about myself and how I work in a brand new environment!

We are back at the studio to edit and color correct a couple of raw sequences from Yosemite.

VIDEO 5 – HOW TO SHOOT DESERT LANDSCAPES TIMELAPSES (JOSHUA TREE NATIONAL PARK) (19:44)

No clouds. No cars. No one around. There is usually nothing moving in a desert. That doesn’t make it a good timelapse playground.

But there is always, always something you can timelapse when nothing else around you doesn’t move!

VIDEO 6 – A FULL GUIDE TO ASTRO-TIMELAPSES IN THE CALIFORNIA DESERT (25:08)

This video will go over EVERYTHING you need to know to capture some amazing Astro-Timelapses of the Milky Way core.

Where, when, what, how… you will have answers to all your questions.

We will then travel back to Joshua Tree National Park to spend the night and timelapse the Milky Way core!

VIDEO 7 – SHOOTING A DAY TO NIGHT ASTRO-TIMELAPSE (SETTINGS, BULB & INTERVAL RAMPING,…) (23:28)

Going from Day-To-Night is fairly simple in timelapse photography. But what about ending up with a sky full of stars and the Milky Way?

Shooting a transition from daylight to the Milky Way core is a little trickier and requires some skills in both Holy Grail and Astro-Timelapses.

In this video, I am also going to show you how to do an interval ramping with the LRTimelapse Pro Timer 3 AND a regular cheap intervalometer!

VIDEO 8 – EDITING ASTRO-TIMELAPSES (33:22)

Now that we are back from Joshua Tree National Park, it’s time to edit the timelapse sequences using LRTimelaspe and Lightroom.

I will teach you how to make the Milky Way pop and how to manage the grain, which can be an issue when shooting at high ISO.

Who is Emeric’s Timelapse?
